A new two-unit condo perched above the 16th green at the Monroe Country Club had the perfect view, but the homeowners knew that their proximity also threatened the golf course they loved due to great amounts of stormwater runoff leaving the home’s roof. Formecology, LLC’s ecological designers were called in to help manage the additional stormwater sustainably on site before it could damage the green. A lush landscape, appropriate to a golf course home, was created of flowering native trees, shrubs, and perennials. Colorful rain gardens full of sedges and flowers capture the rooftop rainwater before it can leave the site. In addition to helping protect the golf course, Formecology, LLC created a beautiful oasis with appropriate screen plantings, view framing, and floral interest.
