WHEAT RESIDENCE

Monroe, WI

A contemporary home, designed and owned by Architect Rob Wheat, features strong massing and bold lines that are echoed, yet softened by the landscape. Sharp and forceful interior angles carried into the landscape, through native plantings and an elegant blue stone patio and walkway, connect indoor and outdoor spaces. Further uniting the home and landscape are rain gardens, which border the home and capture runoff from the roof. Masses of texturally rich native shrubs define property lines and screen undesirable views. This project illustrates the successful integration of native plantings with a non-traditional residential home.
