Evansville Landscape Company Wins Award for Excellence (Contractor of the Year) for Madison Area Shoreline Restoration Project
(Madison, WI), (October 2021) – Formecology, LLC in Evansville, WI was named winner in the 2021 NARI of Madison Contractor of the Year (CotY) Award competition in the ‘Residential Landscape Design/Outdoor Living’ category. The awards are part of an annual competition held by the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI).
The Celebrating Excellence Awards Evening is widely considered to be the premier event of the year in the remodeling industry. Contractors from the Madison area vie for CotY Awards on an annual basis. All projects submitted for judging were an improvement or an addition to an existing structure. An impartial panel of judges who are experts within the industry and associated fields selected winners based on each entrant’s “before and after” photography and project description, problem solving, functionality, aesthetics, craftsmanship, innovation, degree of difficulty and entry presentation.

“This shoreline restoration project was a huge undertaking, but the greener, innovative approach was in complete alignment with our mission. Working with the right engineers, suppliers, subcontractors, and having experienced employees, and a willing client all helped to make this an award-winning project”, said John Gishnock III, landscape architect and owner.
Trophies were awarded at the 2021 Celebrating Excellence Awards Evening in Middleton on October 28, 2021. To be considered for a CotY Award, a company must be a NARI member in good standing. NARI members represent an elite group from the approximately 800,000 companies and individuals in the U.S. identifying themselves as remodelers. Not only is Formecology, LLC in good standing with NARI, but they also volunteer and help lead the organization.
“Being an eight-year NARI business member, participant on the board of directors, and a volunteer on the membership committee has been very rewarding – not only have we learned and grown as a company and individuals, but we’ve built some really great and potentially long-lasting relationships with Madison’s premiere contractors and service providers!” says Gishnock.
