The goal of the Kind/ Vitale residence was to create a user-friendly, appealing front walkway with an adjacent outdoor space for seating. Repetition of the natural stone and brick pavers created separate nodes to signal function of the space. Working with the DNR, the homeowner yearned for a representation of Wisconsin in the front yard. Through a custom designed railing with the state bird and flower, native plantings, and terrace chairs, the front yard became a small reminder of the many beauties Wisconsin has to offer.
