MCGOWAN RESIDENCE

The third phase of this landscape installation incorporates multiple sustainable solutions to manage stormwater and drastically improve circulation in the client’s front yard. To reduce the amount of hard surfaces and allow stormwater to better infiltrate on site, an oversized asphalt drive was replaced with an eco-friendly alternative-concrete treads combined with permeable ‘Turfpavers’ and no-mow turfgrass. A two-toned patio / gathering space accenting the colors of the home was conveniently designed into the driveway space, and the redesigned walkway and front steps better direct visitors from the drive to the front door. Along the walkway, a rain barrel and foundation planting of colorful native perennials and shrubs displays the beauty of sustainable landscape solutions.
