Clients with environmental goals in this well-loved and preserved historic farmhouse chose to ‘tread lightly on the earth’ with a newly installed concrete tread driveway. Along with being highly functional the immediate benefit of this smaller footprint is it allows more stormwater in to the ground and generates less runoff. A new walkway enhances the homes welcoming presence by guiding visitors to the front door while gently curving to a side entrance to better accommodate tenants. Final touches of native oak trees and colorful perennials soften and beautify the new hardscape features.
