The patio location complements the architectural layout and is made safe and accessible with a natural stone retaining wall and concrete steps. The grades upslope are gently contoured to direct water past the space where it can be soaked up by native musclewood trees that also conveniently add shade and enclosure to the space. Artistic wooden screen panels provide privacy, while mixed-sized boulders and native plants add texture and softness to the ground plane.
Per the design, the clients have accessorized the space with potted plants and a moveable water feature for additional serenity and entertainment. Wood, water, plants and stone are a winning combination for this backyard seating space.
